Meet the Directors

Richard Burt

Director of Bands

Mr. Burt has been a part of GISD for 16 years. He began his career as the band director for sixth grade at Greenville Intermediate (now Sixth Grade Center). From 2007 to 2018, Mr. Burt served as assistant band director at Greenville High School. In the fall of 2018, he became an assistant principal at KGJ STEM @ Crockett.

Mr. Burt is excited about the opportunity to return to the high school and teach music.

Mr. Burt earned a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in educational administration from Texas A&M-Commerce.
​
He and his wife Nikki, a former Lion Pride Band Drum Major, have four children.

Samantha Jocoy

Assistant High School Director

Samantha Jocoy is the Assistant Band Director at Greenville High School and is currently in her second year teaching at Greenville. Ms. Jocoy graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a degree in Music Education. While there, she studied oboe under Natasha Merchant, participated in the Wind Ensemble, and “The Pride” Marching Band as a colorguard member and drum major.

Hunter Langhans

​Percussion Director

​Hunter Langhans is entering his second year as the Percussion Director for Greenville ISD. Prior to his appointment in Greenville, he served as the Assistant Percussion Director at Grapevine HS. A native of New Bern, North Carolina, Mr. Langhans graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas where he studied under Mark Ford, Christopher Deane, Paul Rennick, and Michael Drake. While at UNT, Mr. Langhans performed with numerous ensembles including the UNT Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Green Brigade Marching Band, and PASIC champion UNT Snare Ensemble. He was also a snare drummer for the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps.

Mr. Langhans has worked for numerous award-winning programs in the North Texas area including Birdville HS, Lovejoy HS, Newman Smith HS, and the WGI Scholastic World Finalist, Burleson Centennial Indoor Drumline. Prior to graduation, Mr. Langhans student taught at Rick Reedy High School and Pioneer Heritage Middle School in Frisco ISD. A current resident of Lewisville, Texas, Mr. Langhans is excited to be joining the Greenville Band Program!

Luke Dailey

Middle School Director

Luke Dailey is the band director at Greenville Middle School.  Mr. Dailey graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a degree in Music Education.  He enjoys both music performance and education and is currently a cornet player in the "Dallas Brass Band", a British style brass ensemble based in the Dallas area.  Prior to teaching in Greenville, Mr. Dailey taught private lessons for several years and was a band director at Agnew Middle School in Mesquite, Texas.

Anthony Abruscato

Assistant Band Director

Anthony Abruscato is currently in his third year as an assistant band director in Greenville ISD.  Mr. Abruscato graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a degree in Music Education in 2014.  While  there, he studied Euphonium and Tuba with Dr. Jeff Baker, participated in the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, the “Pride” Marching Band, and the Blue Cat Big Band. He enjoys all things music and is an avid performer on euphonium, bass trombone, and tuba.  Prior to Greenville, Mr. Abruscato taught in Mart ISD and Como-Pickton CISD. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the International Tuba & Euphonium Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity.

Kelsey Mattice

Sixth Grade Center Director

Kelsey Mattice is the Band Director at the Sixth Grade Center and is currently in her third year of teaching at Greenville.  She currently plays flute and saxophone as needed in the orchestra for Greenville Family Theater, playing in shows such as their productions of "Newsies" and "Mary Poppins". Prior to teaching in Greenville, Ms. Mattice studied Music Education at Texas A&M University-Commerce. While there she participated in the flute choir, wind ensemble, and “The Pride” Marching band on flute, piccolo, and Color Guard.
