Greenville HS Director of Bands

Zacharie Williams is the Director of Bands for Greenville High School and Greenville ISD.

Greenville HS Assistant Director

​Luke Dailey is the assistant band director at Greenville High School.  Mr. Dailey graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a degree in Music Education.  He enjoys both music performance and education and was a cornet player in the "Dallas Brass Band", a British style brass ensemble based in the Dallas area.  Prior to teaching in Greenville, Mr. Dailey taught private lessons for several years and was a band director at Agnew Middle School in Mesquite, Texas.

Greenville MS Head Director

Kelsey Mattice is the Head Band Director at Greenville Middle School and is currently in her 8th year of teaching. Her teaching so far has included 3 different positions at Greenville: 6th Grade Band Director (3 years), Assistant GMS Director (1 year), and Head GMS Director (4 years)! 
She currently plays flute for multiple organizations-traveling as needed. Ms. Mattice biannually plays with the North East Texas Choral Society in Sulphur Springs, and has played flute and saxophone in the orchestra for Greenville Family Theater (playing in shows such as the productions "Newsies" and "Mary Poppins"). Prior to teaching in Greenville, Ms. Mattice studied Music Education at Texas A&M University-Commerce. While there, she participated in the flute choir, Wind Ensemble, Steel Pan Ensemble, and “The Pride” Marching band on flute, piccolo, and Color Guard. 
Ms. Mattice lives in Cooper with her boyfriend Mr. Baker and their 4 cats-Roxie, Lily, Gandalf, and Sammy!

Greenville MS Assistant Director

Trent McGee is the Assistant Director at Greenville Middle School. This is his 8th year in education, with experience coming from 4 years as Middle School Director and Percussion Director for Kountze ISD and 3 years here in Greenville ISD. Prior to teaching, Mr. McGee graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX with a degree in Music Education. During his time at Lamar, Mr. McGee was the bass drum section leader for the Showcase of Southeast Texas Marching Band, a performing member of the Lamar Percussion Studio, and served as a Lamar University Ambassador while enrolled in the Reaud Honors College.  He has experience marching in the WGI World-Class circuit in 2017 with Monarch Independent Percussion based out of Houston, TX, where they placed 7th in the World Class Finals. He has also been an active member of his community as an inaugural member of the Southeast Texas Winds and Percussion community ensemble. Mr. McGee lives in Rockwall and enjoys playing pickleball, golfing, biking and camping in his spare time.

Travis Intermediate Band Director

Tyler Burnett is the Band Director at the Travis Intermediate 6th Grade Center. This is his 1st year in education! Prior to being at Greenville ISD,  he taught private lessons at Commerce High School and has had multiple successful students at the state level. He also served as a marching tech at Commerce High School and Winnsboro High School. Mr. Burnett graduated from East Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX with a degree in Music Education. During his time at ETAMU, Mr. Burnett performed with the wind ensemble for 3 years and was a member of the "Pride" Marching Band serving as the  trombone section leader for 2 years. He was active in the Roaring Bones Trombone Studio and was the treasurer and vice-president.  Mr. Burnett was also an active member of Kappa Kappa Psi Zetta Kappa chapter. He student taught at Hebron High School and Arbor Creek Middle School under the leadership of Mr. Andy Sealy. Mr. Burnett enjoys Chipotle, video games, anything outdoors, and being involved in church.

Greenville ISD Percussion Director

John Grant is the Percussion Director for GISD. Mr. Grant has taught percussion in California, Mississippi, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, France and Brazil. John is the first American to have worked as a Samba School Director in Brazil’s major Samba Schools. While living in Brazil, he formed Brazil’s All-Star Drum Line, known as “Tcha Degga Da”. Mr. Grant has performed with the University of North Texas Drum Line, the University of Utah Drum Line, the Concord Blue Devils and the Marauders Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Grant has taught the University of Southern Mississippi Drum Line, the Troopers and the Madison Scouts drum and bugle corps, the Freelancers WGI independent world finalist, as well as many high school percussion programs. He has published a rudimental percussion book in Portuguese, and Spanish.  Mr. Grant has worked fabricating percussion instruments with Marimba One, Ross, Sonar, JOG, and Majestic. Mr. Grant endorses Vic Firth, Zildian and REMO. John, his wife, and their daughter live in Rockwall, Texas. John Grant is happy to be working with the Greenville Lion Pride Band.
